Our work in East Africa
[YOUR HISTORY IN THE REGION — e.g. labs or dealers you supplied in Nairobi or Kampala, and when.]
Many East African labs and print shops run equipment that is no longer supported locally, where the hardest part is finding the right replacement part. Parts sourcing and remote diagnosis are where we can help most.
Protecting equipment from power problems
Voltage fluctuations and outages are the most common cause of failed boards and power supplies we see in equipment from the region. For any minilab or production printer we recommend:
- An automatic voltage regulator (stabiliser) sized for the machine
- A UPS for controllers and computers, so jobs and settings survive short outages
- A clean generator supply — if you run on a generator, an inverter-type unit with stable output is much kinder to electronics
Tell us your power situation when you request a quote and we will advise on protection for that machine.
Import requirements
Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda run pre-export verification of conformity (PVoC) programmes, and some goods need an inspection certificate before they ship. We prepare commercial documents and coordinate with the approved inspection agency and your clearing agent when it applies.
Questions from East Africa
Can you train my technician remotely?
Yes. We can walk your technician through diagnosis, adjustments and part replacement by video call, with photos and manuals where available.
How long does shipping take?
[TYPICAL TRANSIT TIMES — e.g. "Parts by air usually arrive in 5–10 days; sea freight takes several weeks."] Your quote states the expected timing.
Do you buy used equipment in East Africa?
We consider it case by case. Freight costs back to Canada often make buying impractical, but we can sometimes help you sell to another lab in the region or buy usable parts.
